HANDWARA: A man was killed and two others injured when the car they were travelling in rammed into a tree after losing control at Unisoo village in Handwara area, police said.

Reports said they suspect over-speeding caused the accident, adding that the incident was reported on Srinagar-Kupwara national highway at Unisoo area of Handwara in Kashmir.

Meanwhile Police identified deceased as Liyakat Ali Khan son of Alif din Khan resident of Chokibal Kupwara while injured persons who were also travelling in the same car identified as Aijaz Ahmed Kataria son of Ghulam Nabi Kataria and Mushtaq Ahmed Kataria both residents of Chokibal Kupwara, officials added that a case in this regard has registered.

However, local reports said that both injured were rushed to local hospital for advanced treatment.
