IUST postpones exams scheduled today

Srinagar: Following the killing of two militants in Khanmoh area of city outskirts, authorities in Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora have postponed all the exams scheduled for today (Friday).

“Exams scheduled to be conducted today (Friday) have been postponed. Fresh dates for the exams will be announced later,” an official of the varsity said.

Pertinently, two militants were killed in an encounter with government forces in Khonmoh area on the outskirts of Srinagar, police said on Friday.

The gunfight had started yesterday after militants attacked the policemen guarding a Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dr Anwar Khan.

Meanwhile following the killings, all schools and colleges have been closed in Pulwama district while internet services have also been snapped as a precautionary measure.

Trains services have also been suspended across Kashmir.
