Jammu: Ranjeet Kalra, Advisor for Sports & Youth Affairs UT Govt. of Lakshadweep and Member J&K State Sports Council, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today and briefed him about the activities being undertaken to foster the sports culture in the State.
Kalra who serves as a Special Invitee on the Governing Council of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Sports Complex, Katra, discussed with Governor the ongoing and planned initiatives to promote sports in the Jammu region and in the State.
Emphasising the vital importance of games and sports to inculcate balanced personality development of youth, Governor advised Kalra to promote inter-State level championships to provide opportunities to the J&K youth to enhance their skills.
