Srinagar: As the Chief Ministers brother, Tasaduq Mufti is all set to be inducted in the cabinet, the grapevine has it that Mehbooba Mufti is also planning a reshuffle of some portfolios among his ministers.
Sources privy to the development said that there are high chances of some ministers being given additional portfolios while some new faces are also likely to be inducted in the council of ministers.
Speculations are also rife that the coalition will try to ‘pacify’ disgruntled voices within the cabinet as well.
Earlier, there were reports that few ministers in the coalition were unhappy over their portfolios and were demanding bigger ministries.
They were later pacified by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and assurances were given to them that their issues will be resolved in the next cabinet reshuffle.
As the time for the revamp has come, it is being believed that the portfolios of some ministers will be changed. The ministries that are likely to witness a revamp are of Agriculture, Youth Services and Sports and IT.
Sources also divulge that there will few faces who will be inducted into the council of ministers besides Tasaduq Mufti.
Pertinently, Governor NN Vohra last week sent his nod to the government over nominating Tasaduq as the member of the upper house of the state legislature. (KNS)
