Shopian: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz convened a meeting of district officers here on Tuesday to review the progress on various programmes like Annual Plan, Public Awareness Camps, Training Programme, Skill Development Programme, and Capacity Building Programme.

The DDC reviewed the initiatives taken for improving skill development and capacity building of the beneficiaries under various flagship schemes and programmes.

He also took stock of existing schemes under Public Health, Irrigation, Flood Control, Mughal Road, Mechanical Irrigation, Power Development Department and STD sectors and stressed the officers to organize training in the rural areas for motivating people living in these areas to take the benefits of various schemes and programmes.

The DDC said a comprehensive plan would be devised involving different departments for skill development under various schemes to create employment avenues for the unemployed youth in an integrated manner.

He stressed on ensuring 100 percent utilization of funds, besides implementation of all the decisions taken in previous DDB meetings. He directed the concerned officers to complete the on-going projects within stipulated timeframe while ensuring quality on the ground.

Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineers from PHE, I&FC, Mechanical Irrigation, PDD, STD and other officers of the district were present in the meeting.
