Publish fee structure or face music, DSEK tells coaching centres

Srinagar: The directorate of school education Kashmir has asked the owners of the institutes to publish fee structure or face de-recognition without further notice. The development comes after the coaching centres failed to comply with the government directions issued earlier to regulate the functioning of coaching institutes.

Director school education Kashmir GN Itoo on Wednesday issued a notice to owners of private schools to publish details of faculty members within two days.

“A final notice is given to you to publish the item wise fee structure and details of faculty members as per format available on website of DSEK, within two days, failing which registration of coaching centre will be cancelled and will be sealed without any further notice,” reads the notice issued by GN Itoo.

The notice reads that coaching centres were given registration on October 07 this year on basis of the condition that they will publish fee structure and faculty details before starting the classes.

“A meeting was also convened on December 13 with owners of coaching centres and it was agreed that the fee structure and details of faculty members will be published by all recognized coaching centres within four days,” it reads.

The notice states that it has been observed  that registered coaching centres have failed to comply with the directions.

“We will take action against the erring coaching centres who will continue their classes in violation of the rules,” Itoo said.

Interestingly, the directorate has issued provisional registration to 182 coaching centres in October this year upto September 2018 on basis of certain conditions failing which the centres would be closed.

Recently, 40 coaching centres were granted registration for one year with the conditions that they will implement the government guidelines in letter and spirit before starting classes of students.
