Sopore: Sopore Police on Thursday claimed to have seized illicit timber during night patrolling.
During the night patrolling, a police party of Police Station Dangiwacha along with Forest Range Officer Rafiabad seized about 30sq ft green chopped timber(deodar) on 31_B Dalri Rafiabad.
Taking an advantage of the darkness, the Jungle smugglers/thieves left the tractor without registration number on spot and fled away in darkness.
“Timber which they were about to load in the tractor was seized,” Police said.
A case under FIR No. 81/2017 under section 379RPC 6FA Act was registered while the investigation has been taken up to ascertain the involvement of actual offenders.
