Baramulla: A day-long exhibition-cum-awareness camp was today organized at Uri with Deputy Commissioner, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash as the chief guest.
Camp was organized by GIAN and National Innovation unit of University of Kashmir in collaboration with Sub Divisional Magistrate office Uri which marked the overwhelming response of young and enthusiastic innovators from different areas of the valley.
SDM Uri, Dr Sagar N Doifode, concerned Tehsildar and officials, besides a huge gathering of people were present on the occasion.
The camp was aimed at educating young innovators who have been felicitated at State and National levels, besides providing them proper counseling and platform so that they can explore more efficiently into their respective fields.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated the innovators for their endeavours and said that the need of the hour is to provide them a proper platform so that their talent is explored. He said that this will enable them to earn their sustainable livelihood besides offering employment avenues for other sections of the society.
While assuring every possible support from the district administration, the DC said that there is no dearth of talent in the district and the administration is committed to provide educational and technical assistance to these innovators so that they can bring laurels for the state as well as for the country.
Earlier, the DC inspected the stalls that were installed displaying various equipments and tools invented by these innovators.
