Srinagar: In the backdrop of the public rally call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) today, the district administration Srinagar and Anantnag have imposed restrictions in the respective districts.
“Restrictions under section 144 CrpC have been imposed in Anantnag and Srinagar areas falling under the jurisdiction of six Police Stations including the Rainwari, Nowhatta, Khanyar, Maharaj Gunj, Safa Kadal, Maisuma, and Kral Khud” a police officer said.
Meanwhile, in Anantnag internet services have also been suspended.
Rail services from Kashmir Valley to Bannihal in Jammu region have also been suspended as a precautionary measure.
Police have arrested some separatist leaders to prevent their participation in the scheduled protest rally.
While Syed Ali Geelani continues to be under house arrest, Mirwaiz has been confined to his house and Malik stands lodged in central jail Srinagar after his arrest by the police recently.
The board of school education has postponed exams scheduled in Kashmir Valley on Friday.
