PDP condemns attack on worker, family

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the killing of its worker and former Sarpanch Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh of Imamsaheb Wachi in Shopian District and setting his house on fire by “miscreants”.

In a statement PDP General Secretaries Qazi Mohammad Afzal and Rafi Ahmad Mir and Srinagar District President Mohammad Khurshid Alam termed the act as unfortunate and inhuman.

“Reoccurrence of such dastardly incidents is unfortunate and these are neither going to solve our problems nor will lead us anywhere,” the leaders said.

“Violence is no solution to problems. It brings only miseries and agony. Killing people on the basis of political ideology is a highly deplorable act and our party condemns it unequivocally,” the leaders said.

Urging the government to bring to justice the elements who are responsible for such ‘heinous crime, the leaders while condoling the death of Mohammad Ramzan expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and assured every possible help from the government.
