Srinagar: The Civil Defense Budgam on Saturday organized a one day workshop on Disaster Management, Preparedness and Rescue at Sheikh-ul-Alam Conference Hall in DC Office Complex Budgam.
The Workshop was thrown open by Dilbagh Singh, IPS, Commandant General (DGP) HG/CD & SDRF J&K-Srinagar. Singh also delivered the inaugural address.
Experts from different fields of Disaster Management delivered lectures and gave demonstrations with visual aids.
School children from different Schools of town Budgam participated in the workshop along with their teaching staff, the spokesman said.
Apart from it, ICDS workers and Civil Defense volunteers also participated.
The notable speakers who delivered lectures were G M Dar (Course Co-coordinator Disaster Management IMPA Srinagar), Maryam Wani, Dr Abdul Majeed (Chief Warden CD Budgam), Zuhibya Gul, Shri Malik Mohammad Abrar.
The main focus was to equip the participants with the knowledge of life support mechanism and other Disaster Mitigation methods.
Javaid Hassan Bhat, KPS, SSP (I/C DIG HG/CD & SDRF Kashmir), DDC Budgam and SSP Budgam also highlighted the role of Civil Defense. The vote of thanks was presented by Dy. Controller Civil Defense Budgam.
