Congress MLA blocks highway to protest against braid chopping in Kashmir

Anantnag: The Congress legislator from Devsar, Muhammad Amin Bhat Saturday protested against the growing incidents of braid chopping in Kashmir.

The MLA along with his workers blocked the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Qazigund to mark a protest against the failure of administration in tracing the culprits behind the mysterious braid chopping incidents.

The commuters due to the blockade of the road faced hardships as they failed to reach their destinations as the protesters blocked the road for hours. The protestors were raising slogans against the central as well as the state government.

Taking to media persons, Bhat blamed the ruling regime for the braid chopping incidents.

He said that a number of braid choppers were caught by the locals but the Police and Army protected them on the instructions of the government.

Threatening to launch agitation against the government, the MLA Devsar said that in case the incidents will not be stop, they will start a state wide agitation on the issue.
