Shopian shuts for fourth consecutive day

Shopian: A complete shutdown is being observed in most parts of south Kashmir’s Shopian district to mourn the death of local militants.

Three militants namely Zahid Ahmad Mir, Irfan Abdullah and Asif Ahmad Pal were killed in an encounter on Monday evening in Gatipora village of Shopian district.

All the business establishments and government offices are closed in most parts of the district while public transport is also off the roads.

It is pertinent to mention here that shutdown is being observed for the fourth consecutive day in the area as whole Kashmir witnessed shutdown on Monday on call on joint resistance leadership against braid chopping incidents.
