KEA demands an end to ‘braid chopping’ incidents, says Govt is shielding braid choppers

Srinagar: Trade body, Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), headed by Farooq Ahmad Dar Thursday protested against the growing incidents of mysterious braid chopping, saying that it is a ploy to divert the attention of Kashmiris.

The KEA members assembled here at Press Enclave and chanted slogans against the administration. They were demanding authorities to put an immediate end to the braid chopping incidents in Kashmir, which according to them has unleashed terror among the people especially the women folk.

Dar, said that the government has every knowledge about the braid choppers but are shielding them as it is agencies who are carrying out such activates in Kashmir with an aim to divert the attention of Kashmiris from the freedom struggle.

“We appeal the administration to stop such tactics at earliest,” he said, adding that it is a well thought of the agencies to keep the people of Kashmir busy in such incidents and to divert their attention from the real cause.

He also said that the administration should have brought the culprits to the book in case they were sincere to take action against them.

“Even the school going girl of our society is in utter shock and scare to venture out for tuition and to go school,” he said, adding that such incidents should come to an end to ensure the safety and security of the dignity of a woman.

Threatening for 2016 like unrest, Dar said, “Our women and girls will come on roads and the situation will turn even worse than 2016 unrest in case the government fails to put an end to the mysterious braid chopping incidents.” The protesters later dispersed peacefully.
