Srinagar Police Wednesday foiled a protest march of Batamaloo traders and transporters who were trying to move towards the Civil Secretariat.
The protest march was organised by traders, transporters, and street vendors Joint Coordination Committee Batamaloo.
Scores of protesting traders, transporters and street hawkers had gathered at Press Enclave in the morning but were intercepted and cane-charged by police at Ghanta Ghar.
Earlier, speaking to media persons, Abrar Khan, chairman of the Joint Coordination Committee said instead of shifting the bus terminal, authorities should construct a road through Tattu ground to prevent congestion in Batamaloo.
