Anti-NIA protests rock KU, IUST

Students of Kashmir University Wednesday protested for the second consecutive day against National Investigation Agency (NIA) for summoning one of the scholars, Aala Fazli to New Delhi.

The protesting students threatened to “lockdown” the university if the “questioning” of Aala by NIA does not stop immediately.

Aala was summoned to Delhi on Monday and he is being “questioned” by the Indian Investigation Agency in connection with an alleged funding case registered on May 30 this year.

The protesting students of various departments raised slogans against NIA and India. They also shouted pro-azadi slogans while marching through the campus.

Meanwhile, the students at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora also held protest against the NIA summon to Kashmir University Scholar Aala Fazli.

Holding placards and banners, the protesting students demanded immediate end to the “questioning” of Aala at the hands of NIA.

The protesting students also raised slogans against the recent grenade blast at Tral killing two civilians including an IUST student Pinky Kour.
