Class work in all educational institutes from primary schools to Degree colleges in Sopore town will remain suspended on Thursday, following killing of top militant commander Qayoom Najar in an encounter with security forces on Tuesday in Uri.
Officials said the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to avoid law-and-order incidents in the aftermath of militant’s killing.
Additional District Magistrate Sopore Khursheed Ahmed Shah in a press statement said that restrictions under section 144 of CrPC shall remain imposed on 28th September, 2017 under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore and Tarzoo. However, staff shall remain present for routine work.
Meanwhile, situation in Sopore town and outskirts remained peaceful on Wednesday amid strict restrictions.
