A complete shutdown is being observed in Kulgam district of south Kashmir against the increasing incidents of braid chopping.
Over one dozen incidents of braid chopping incidents were reported from Anantnag and Kulgam districts in last one week.
Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has directed police to investigate the incidents and accordingly Kulgam Police has constituted a special investigation team to investigate the matter.
Local Sources said that all shops and business establishments are closed while as vehicular movement is thin on the roads.
Local Sources added that one alleged hair chopper was caught in Malwan village of the district late last evening, however army fired in air and alleged braid chopper went with them.
People in the area are scared and feel insecure even in their own homes, locals added
