Sopore update: 04 civilian, 02 cops injured grenade blast

Two cops and four civilians were injured after supspected militant a police party in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Sunday morning, police said.

According to reports militants lobbed a grenade towards Government forces of 179 battalion CRPF post near SBI bank at main chowk area of Sopore town. which missed the target and exploded on the road side, resulting in injuries 06 persons including two security personnel.

Meanwhile authorities at Sub District Hospital Sopore confirmed that we received six injured persons including two J&K police cops and all are minor injuries and all is stated to be stable.

The injured civilian were identified as, Bashir Ahmad Shah son of Haji Ghulam Mohiudin of Badam bagh Sopore, Aamir Amin Sofi son of Mohammad Amin of Baghat Sopore, Nazir Ahmad Teli son of Ghulam Ahmad of Arampora Sopore and Aaqib Bashir lone son of Bashir Ahmad of Botingoo Sopore.

However officials in police department identified injured cops as SPO Aaqib Belt no.268 and SPO Shabir Ahmed Belt no.136

Soon after the attack heavy forces has been deployed at all around the suspected spot and launched manhunt to nab the attackers.
