A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Kalghi area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday morning.
An official said that forces cordoned off the area after receiving inputs about the presence of militants early today.
“As they reached the suspected spot, the militants opened fire,” he said, adding that the forces retaliated.
According to the reports, three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
The exchange of fire was going on at the time of filing of this report.
