The delegation of General Line Teachers’ association, J&K lead by its President Anwar Hussain Wani today called on Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and appraised him about their grievances.
On the occasion, the delegation apprised the Minister about various issues and problems faced by General Line Teachers which includes delay in promotions, transfer of teachers and other issues.
The delegation also desired the formation of Teachers’ Welfare Fund adding it would be useful for teachers who need the financial assistance in tough times. The delegation assured the Minister that the teachers will also contribute to the Teachers’ Welfare Fund from their salaries.
The Minister gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured that all their genuine grievances will be addressed and requisite steps will be taken for the welfare of education sector in general and teachers in particular in the State.
