Army claims foiling of infiltration bid, two militants were killed in Machil sector

While foiling an alleged infiltration bid, Indian Army killed two infiltrators even as three of them reportedly managed to escape in Machhil Sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports said that a group comprising of five militants was challenged by an Army patrolling party when they were trying to infiltrate into this part of Kashmir. The infiltrators resorted to heavy firing, leading to a shootout, army sources said.

They said that during the shootout two infiltrators were killed.

“Two militants were killed in the operation,” said an official adding that the operation has been launched to flush out the rest of the militants.
