Students of Degree college Sopore on Monday protested against the persecution and killing of Rohingya Muslims by fanatic Buddhists in Burma.

According to the reports, a large number of students from Government Degree College Sopore protested inside college campus and condemned the killings and persecution of Rohingya Muslims.

Reports said that the protesting students were carrying placards and banners seeking an end to the genocide in Burma. The students took out a protest towards Iqbal market and Main Chowk area.

Witnesses said that when they (students) reached near Iqbal market with in short period of time some protesters started pelting stones on police vehicles which were retaliated by lobbing tear gas shells.
