Home Minster suggests ‘5-Cs’ for Kashmir resolution

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Monday suggested “five-Cs” -Compassion, Communication, Coexistence, Confidence building, and Consistency -for attaining the “permanent solution to Kashmir issue.”

“A lot of speculations were being made after I said that we are moving towards a permanent solution to Kashmir issue. Today, I would like to suggest the way forward to attain that permanent solution. According to me, the five-Cs should be implemented for the permanent solution,” Rajnath said, during a press conference here in Srinagar.

The Home Minister said that the situation in Kashmir is improving. Home Minister arrived in Srinagar on September 9 on a four-day visit to the state.

“During my two-day visit in the valley, I have met a number of delegations, including from civil society, students and political parties. After meeting all of them, I can say this with confidence that the situation has improved a lot in the valley and is further improving,” he said.
