Atrocities on Rohingiya Muslims: KEA protests atrocities on Rohingya Muslims

Police on Wednesday foiled the protest march of Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), and detained scores of its members after they tried to march towards the commercial Hub Lal Chowk here to mark a protest against the killing of Rohingyas.

Led by KEA President Farooq Dar, the protesters assembled at Srinagar’s Press Enclave and chanted slogans against the atrocities being committed on the Muslims of Burma.

The protesters questioned the silence maintained by the International Community over the anti-Muslim acts in Burma.

Terming the ‘butchering’ of Muslims in Burma as painful, the protesters said that the world community must not act as mute spectator and should pressurize the government there to stop such heart wrenching violence.

Farooq Dar while talking to the reporters later said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the authorities of Burma but unfortunately he didn’t utter a single word over the Burmese action of ‘barbarism’.

He said that the Muslims must unite over such atrocities to tackle the prevailing anti-Muslim situation across the globe.

Dar said that the people of Kashmir don’t act as mute spectator over such actions against Muslims in any nook and corner of the world. “We will always take to streets against anti-Muslim acts,” he said.

Meanwhile, the protesters later tried to march towards commercial Hub Lal Chowk to mark their protest against the Burmese action.

However, Police didn’t allow them to carry out their protest and detained scores of its members at Srinagar’s Press Enclave.
