A youth was hit by bullet during the clashes which erupted between protesters and government forces on Tuesday near the encounter site in Hakripora village in Pulwama district in South Kashmir, sources said.
The youth identified as Jehanagir Ahmad of Kakapora, was hit by bullet in his abdomen. He was shifted to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment. His condition is stated to be critical.
Several others have suffered pellet injuries, reports said.
Two militants including top LeT commander Abu Dujana and Arif Lelhari have been killed in the encounter.
Soon after the gunfight started people from all the surrounding villages started marching towards the encounter site in Hakripora pelting stones on forces, sources said.
Local sources said that a youth was hit by bullet as massive tear gas shelling on part of the forces was going on in the area as people were pelting stones on them.
Meanwhile Internet services have been snapped in the Pulwama district following the encounter.
