Clashes erupted between youth and government forces in Zirpora Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. 

A large number of youths took to the streets at Zirpora Bijbehara as part of the protest programme given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL).

The joint resistance leadership had called for protests today against the arrest of seven separatist leaders by National Investigation Agency.

However, the forces responded by lobbing tear gas shells on the protesters, triggering clashes in the Bijbehara town.
