Painting competition held at SKICC 

A painting competition was held at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) on Saturday, in which students from different schools participated.

 The Competition was organised by Non-Governmental Organizations ‘We Volunteer’ and ‘Al-Habbib foundation,’ in collaboration with International Women Peace Group and Jay Kay women welfare society. The theme of the painting competition was ‘Peace.’

 Galaxy Public School’s Maliha Shah bagged first position, while Zaib-ul-Nisa and Parisa Majeed, both students of Linton Hall Secondary School, bagged second and third position respectively.

 “It was a wonderful experience for me to participate in the competition.” Zaib-ul-Nisa said.

 “We need to organise more and more such painting events, so the budding painting artist will get a platform to showcase their talent,” she said.

Chairman, ‘We Volunteers’ said while commenting on the organization of the competition said that “motive behind organizing this competition was to provide a chance to students to showcase their talent.” He further said that, “reason behind choosing ‘Peace’ as the theme of this competition was to send a message of peace and tranquillity to the world outside.’’

Renowned painting artist Arshad Salo acted as the Judge of the competition and Nusrat Aziz was also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, at the end of the competition top three prizes and participation certificates were distributed among the participations.
