Three militants have been killed in the ongoing gunfight with government forces on Saturday in forest area of Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said.
The gunfight had started between government forces and militants after a joint team of Army’s 42 RR and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, cordoned off Gujar Basti in Wantiwen forests of Satora village.
The militants, who were yet to be identified, belonged to Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit, an official said.
According to IGP Kashmir , 1 to 2 militants are still holed up and are all Pakistani cadres of JeM.
Meanwhile, the entire area has been laid under seige by the security forces and heavy firing was going on.
