Two militants have been killed in the ongoing gunfight with government forces on Saturday in forest area of Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said.
The gunfight had started between government forces and militants after a joint team of Army’s 42 RR and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, cordoned off Gujar Basti in Wantiwen forests of Satora village.
The militants, who were yet to be identified, belonged to Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit, an official said.
The official said that at least five more militants are believed to be hiding in the area.
Meanwhile, heavy firing was still going on when the last reports came in.
