KCCI holds protest march, condemns killing of Yatris

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc) Tuesday organized a protest march from Chamber Office to Press Enclave lead by senior Vice President, Gowhar Maqbool and Mohammad Ibrahim Shahdad.

Earlier, an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee of The Kashmir Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (Inc) was convened today, at Chamber Office.

In the meeting, the innocent killings and blood shedding of all human beings have been condemned in strong words. “At the same time, it has been noted with concern that such incidents have generally been taking place on specific occasions which tend to send a wrong signal through the country about the situation in Kashmir,” a statement issued here said.

They said that with the contradictory statements made by the Chief Minister, Dy Chief Minister, various political leaders and police officials regarding the incident doubts have arisen about the factuality of the attack on the tourist/yatri bus at Anantnag-Kashmir, purportedly by militants, at a time when Yatri movement after dusk is not allowed on the national highway under the standing government directive and Yatri security also stands accordingly withdrawn after 5.00 P.M.

While condemning the attack, the Chamber demanded a time bound probe in the incident by a Supreme Court judge to expose the perpetrators of such heinous killings.
