Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa today paid rich tributes to the slain Hizb-ul-Mujahideen leader Burhan Wani, and aexpressed his support to the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people.
Qamar said, “Kashmiris have right of self determination. Sacrifices of Burhan Wani and generations against Indian atrocities are a testimony of their resolve,” reported Radio Pakistan.
Burhan Wani was killed in a gunfight with government forces on July 8 last year, leading to a surge in the calls for separation.
Meanwhile, authorities have imposed curfew and restrictions under Section 144 CrPc in the Kashmir valley to prevent protests and rallies on the maiden death anniversary of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.
