Train service suspended in valley

All trains running in Kashmir valley were suspended Thursday due to protests following the killing of three militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) by forces in Pulwama district.

”We have suspended train services between Srinagar-Badgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in the north for security reasons,” a railway official said.

Similarly, train run from Badgam-Srinagar-Pulwama-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region has also been suspended.

”We have received directions from the authorities and police to suspend train service in the Valley for security reasons,” he said, adding that the service will be resumed only after receiving a green signal from the police.
