A devastating fire which engulfed more than 15 shops of Shalimar market situated in front of the Mughal garden on the bank of Dal Lake has destroyed property worth lakhs of rupees, official sources said here today.
According to the sources, the fire broke out in the market during the intervening night.
However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
Fire and Emergency officials said that it took more than four hours for 14 fire tenders to bring the blaze under control.
