Anantnag town shuts on Qazi Nisar’s death anniversary

Anantnag town in south Kashmir is observing a complete shutdown today on the death anniversary of Ummat e Islami founder, Qazi Nisar Ahmed.
Chairman Ummat e Islami Qazi Ahmad Yasir on Wednesday had called for a shutdown in south Kashmir on June 19 to commemorate the 23rd death anniversary of his father and party founder Qazi Nisar Ahmad. He was one of the popular religious and political leaders of his times.
All shops and other business establishments remained closed in the town to remember Nisar who was killed by unknown gunmen on this day in 1994 in the nearby Bun Dialgan village.
