BSNL exchange in Mattan that happens to be one of the oldest exchange of historical district Anantnag is out of order from last fifteen days as a result of which consumers suffer in Mattan and the adjacent areas.
According to a senior citizen of Mattan, this exchange got some technical fault ten days ago but so far this fault has not been corrected and all landline system of the area is non functional leaving consumers to face difficulties.
The exchange is guarded by police personells and is looked after by one casual employee .
According to locals many a times complaints were made to the higher officials of BSNLl and telecom ministry but all in vain.
It is pertinent to mention here sdes hardly visit this exchange and don’t bother to align cable system of area.
People of Mattan have appealed telecom minister,chief minister of state ,div commissioner Kashmir, GM BSNL to look into the matter and see why officials of BSNLAanantnag are in slumber.
