Clashes erupt in Palhallan

Clashes have erupted between the students and government forces on Monday during a protest march in Palhalan, sources said.

According to the sources, the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Palhalan Pattan started protesting against the arrest of students. The students were raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

Consequently, the marching students were intercepted by the government forces who resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes.

Pertinently, student protests have been going on in the valley since the government forces’ action on the students of Pulwama Degree College on April 15.
