The Srinagar-Leh highway was thrown open for vehicular traffic on Friday, after remaining closed for more than four months,
According to the officials, only light-motor vehicles were allowed to move ahead of Sonamarg on Friday.
“Authorities will decide about movement of the heavy vehicles on the highway later,” officials said.
The highway was closed due to heavy snowfall in mid January for vehicular traffic. The 10-KM Gagangeer-Sonamarg road stretch of the highway was thrown on March 2nd this year.
