Pulwama shuts against alleged force’s highhandedness

Complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town Friday against alleged vandalization of shops by government forces.

The Pulwama Trader’s body has called for today’s shutdown, alleging government forces thrashed shopkeepers and damaged their property during cashes on Thursday.

However police have strongly refuted the allegations saying that on and off stone pelting in the town has severely disturbed the routine of local business people.

All shops and business establishments are closed in the town while as traffic is off the roads, local sources said.

According to the sources, many people were thrashed and several shops vandalized during clashes between protesters and forces on Thursday.
