DDC reviews status of developmental projects

District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Muneer-ul-Islam, today convened a meeting of all district and sectoral officers to review the progress in implementation of various developmental projects and schemes in the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Executive Engineers from concerned departments, CEO, District and Sectoral officers were present in the meeting.

The meeting also held threadbare discussions on projects under MGNREGA.

The DDC directed the concerned to complete all the ongoing developmental projects in a time-bound manner. He impressed upon the officers to work in coordination for timely completion of all pending works in the district. He also directed the executing agencies to speed up the tendering process for new projects.

Taking a serious note of the pending PHE scheme at Lethpora, the DDC directed the concerned officers to expedite the work on war-footing. He also directed the Executive Engineers of the I&FC Department to expedite the work on major irrigation schemes being under taken in the district.

         The DDC called on the officers to ensure expeditious execution of developmental works to extend desired benefits to the people. He asked them to keep a strict check over quality of works, adding that efforts should be made to create sustainable assets catering to area-specific developmental needs.

Later, the DDC also convened a meeting of officers of the Education Department. He was apprised about the functioning of schools in the district in view of the recent law and order situation here.

Stressing that value-based education is the need of the hour, the DDC called on the concerned to constantly help build conducive atmospheres in educational institutions.
