Teachers Forum denounce use of force on college students

Employees Joint Action Committee president and Chairman Teachers Fourm Abdul Qayoom Wani Tuesday expressed serious concern and anguish over the attacks carried out by goons on Kashmiri students studying in different parts of India.

Wani was addressing a session of Teachers Forum said that these Kashmiri students are under mental trauma and state of insecurity which is badly affecting their academic career and future.

Wani urged upon both state and central government to come up with concrete measures instead of press statements to ensure the safety and security of these students.

He condemned the forcible entry of security forces in the premises of GDC Pulwama, Womens college MA road Srinager and other educational institutions. Wani urged upon Education Minister to put a blanket ban on the entry of security forces in the educational institutions.

He also condemned the police action on students and showed sympathy and solidarity with the injured students and demanded an impartial probe of these incidents.

Wani expressed concern over the illegal activities of self-styled ‘Gau Rakshaks’ and appealed Chief Minister to curb their activities and initiate legal action against them.
