JAMMU: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah Saturday inaugurated the 8th Greater Kashmir Invitational Golf Tournament at Sidhra Golf Course Jammu.
According to the official statement issued here, the two day event is a major golf tournament to be organised at the Sidhra Golf Course and around 80 high-end golfers from Srinagar, Jammu and Chandigarh are expected to participate in the tournament.
The objective of the tournament, it said, is to promote golfing tourism in the state by showcasing the world-class golf courses across Jammu and Kashmir.
Among others, MLC, Devender Rana, Secretary Tourism, Zaffer Ahmed Bhat, Director, Tourism,Jammu, Soujanya Kumar Sharma, Editor-in-Chief, Greater Kashmir, Fayaz Ahmed Kaloo were present on the occasion.
