DAK to launch foundation in Dr Fayaz’s name

SRINAGAR: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Saturday announced it will launch a foundation in the name of Dr Fayaz Khan who passed away after prolonged illness on Friday.
Dr Fayaz had graduated from Government Medical College Srinagar and completed his MD at SKIMS. He pursued his DM Neurology from PGI Chandigarh and was presently working as Consultant Neurologist at SMHS Hospital here.
Dr Fayaz was a “personification of an ideal doctor; wise compassionate, kind and above all honest. He was a sincere, hardworking doctor and was popular among patients. He had achieved laurels in medical profession,” a DAK statement said.
Meanwhile, in a condolence meeting with president DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in chair, grief and sorrow was expressed on Dr Fayaz’s death.
Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan said that Dr Fayaz’s death has “created a vacuum in the field of neurology in our state. He will be remembered and missed by all of us. I have lost a friend and companion but the nation has lost an asset.”
“DAK will raise a foundation on the name of Dr Fayaz Khan for sensitization and awareness of cancer disease among people,” the statement said.
