HAJIN: The 45 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), on Wednesday organised an Under-19 Cricket Tournament at sports ground Madwa, Hajin, as part of its civic outreach initiative aimed at promoting sportsmanship and encouraging youth participation in constructive activities.
Eight teams representing different educational institutions participated in the tournament, which drew an enthusiastic response from players, teachers and local residents.
The inaugural match was played between Government M.L. Higher Secondary School Hajin and Higher Secondary School Shahgund, with Government M.L. Higher Secondary School Hajin registering a convincing victory to advance in the tournament.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Second-in-Command of 45 Battalion CRPF, Dharmendra Yadav, who was the chief guest. Senior officers of the CRPF were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav highlighted the importance of sports in shaping the character of young people and said such initiatives help strengthen bonds between security forces and the local community while providing a positive platform for youth to showcase their talent.
