One booked for forged license
GANDERBAL: Continuing its crackdown on illegal service providers in Sonamarg, police conducted a special operation under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sonamarg.
During the operation, Muzafar Ahmad Khatana, son of Gh Nabi Khatana, resident of Sumbal Bala Gund, Ganderbal, was found operating at Sonamarg using a forged license. Police registered a case (FIR No. 04/2026) under relevant sections and initiated further investigation.
In previous drives, police had detained and fined 23 unauthorized service providers violating the Tourist Trade Act, 1978.
Police urge all stakeholders to adhere to legal provisions and request visitors and citizens to avail services only from authorized and registered providers to ensure safety and legality.
