Several violators fined
BARAMULLA: In coordination with revenue authorities and the Drug Inspector, police in Baramulla conducted enforcement drives to ensure compliance with legal norms.
During a drive near Government Higher Secondary School Chandoosa, shops were inspected, and individuals smoking in prohibited areas were fined under COTPA, with a total of ₹1,300 collected on the spot.
Medical and pharmacy shops were also checked for valid licenses, proper stock and sales records, CCTV installation, and compliance with regulations on controlled substances. Shopkeepers have been warned to adhere strictly to norms, with legal action threatened against violators.
