Pulwama: Police on Monday claimed to have foiled an attempt of bank robbery in Noorpora Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police official said that unknown masked men broke into Noorpora Branch of J&K Bank in the district.
The masked gunmen resorted to ransacking and tried to loot the cash from the bank.
However police quickly swung into action and foiled their attempt, the official said.
Police also fired some gunshots in the attempt of foiling the robbery, he added.
” The robbers stormed the bank and damaged it but we prevented them from stealing money due to alertness shown by the cops ” the police official said.
However Bank authorities said that at least 1 lac cash has been stolen by the robbers.
