Jammu: In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police Headquarters announced the promotion of 866 Constables to the rank of Selection Grade Constable (SGCT), along with in-situ upgradation for 36 Constables.

The promotion orders were issued on Saturday, marking a major milestone in recognizing the dedication and service of these personnel, a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here.

The promotions followed a meticulous evaluation of service records, ensuring transparency and adherence to the norms set by the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). Expressing his congratulations, Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Armed, conveyed his best wishes to the newly promoted Constables and their families.
