NEW DELHI: The I-League club owners met with the Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and the senior officials of the Ministry to discuss key matters concerning the upcoming football season in New Delhi on Thursday.

The meeting was led by KK Tak, owner of Rajasthan United FC, and had representatives from Sreenidhi Deccan FC, Real Kashmir FC, Diamond Harbour FC, Namdhari FC, Gokulam Kerala FC and Shillong Lajong FC.

During the discussions, Mandaviya listened to the concerns raised by the clubs and acknowledged the challenges faced by the I-League participants. He then directed the concerned departments to work toward a positive and practical short-term solution to ensure the smooth conduct of the I-League 2025–26 season.

The Ministry further emphasised that the upcoming season must uphold the highest standards of professionalism, transparency, and operational excellence, with quality broadcasting and efficient execution at every level.

On Wednesday, these seven I-League clubs and Chanmari FC opted to skip the meeting with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), which it had called for at a short notice. The clubs, instead, wrote a letter with demands and requested a meeting at a later date with reactions from the federation.
