SRINAGAR: Continuing its unwavering operation against drug peddlers, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir, in presence of Revenue Department officials, Lambardarand Chowkidar concerned on Monday attached double-storey under construction residential house in Budgam.
The house, valued at more than ₹44 lakhs, belongs to drug peddler namely Rouf Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Majeed Bhat resident of Churumujru Beerwah Budgam, a police spokesperson said in a statement, adding that the attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985.
“The residential house was identified as illegally acquired asset during financial investigation conducted by P/S ANTF Kashmir u/s 68E NDPS Act 1985 in case FIR No. 02/2024 under section 8/15 NDPS Act of P/S ANTF Kashmir. The investigation revealed that the property had been acquired through proceeds of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The drug peddler is currently under Judicial custody at Central Jail Srinagar,” police said.
“This achievement reflects the commitment of ANTF Kashmir to combating narcotics trafficking and ensuring the safety of the community. The police remain committed to taking strict legal action under the NDPS Act against offenders and their assets,” the spokesperson added.
